Dr. Courtney Jo James, PT, DPT
CEO & Founder

For the past decade, Courtney has worked in the world of Physical Therapy. She earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Scranton in 2019. During her Doctorate program, she taught anatomy structure and function incorporating different teaching styles best suited to the learner. Her passion for helping others understand the pathophysiological process behind injuries and pain began here.

After completing her degree, she worked in an outpatient orthopedic setting in Boston, MA. It was here that Courtney began to notice barriers to access for patients who could benefit from PT, such as high insurance co-pays, lack of insurance, and lack of time for appointments due to busy schedules. Additionally, and most importantly, Courtney noticed a lack of patient understanding on the benefits Physical Therapy can provide. Physical Therapy isn’t only something people should access if they are in current pain or have a referral from their Doctor.

Noting the barriers to PT access, Courtney started PT Prehab with a mission to make PT available and affordable for anyone who would like to optimize their body’s function or get expert guidance on how to optimize their body’s performance, recover from an injury, or reduce pain without the barriers of traditional Physical Therapy.

Dr. Carrina de Leon, PT, DPT

A Rhode Island Native, Carrina graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a Bachelor’s in Kinesiology and went on to earn her Doctorate in Physical Therapy thereafter.

Carrina has had the unique experience of working in various settings from orthopedic outpatient private practice and outpatient concierge Physical Therapy, providing outpatient services in assisted living facilities, and inpatient skilled nursing facilities. Carrina’s care is focused on finding the root cause behind movement dysfunction / pain, coming up with a collaborative and tailored solution.

Emerging out of the pandemic, Carrina recognized the need for convenience of care as well as updated approaches to physical therapy (such as personalized, video-based home exercise programs). Carrina is excited to now be delivering Physical Therapy services in a way unencumbered by insurance, time restrictions, or barriers to access a clear path to healing.

When not practicing Physical Therapy, you can find Carrina with her dog Kilo, spending time with family, enjoying good food, and reading.

As a born and raised Jersey Girl, Danielle earned her Bachelor's in Kinesiology with a minor in Counseling & Human Services from the University of Scranton, followed by a Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2019. During her Doctorate program, she taught orthopedic hands-on skills while also beginning advanced education in Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation, quickly developing a passion for this specialty. Since graduating, Danielle has completed numerous courses and certifications in Pelvic Floor and Lymphedema treatment to enhance her ability to provide essential care to a diverse patient population.

With experience in both private outpatient and hospital-based settings, Danielle is excited to now offer treatment virtually. She advocates for health care that empowers patients with knowledge about their bodies, enabling them to identify issues early and, ideally, prevent injury. Recognizing the lack of preventative care for pelvic floor and lymphedema diagnosis, she is committed to addressing this gap through her services. Danielle’s holistic, humor-based approach to rehabilitation addresses not only the physical barriers to treatment but also honors the emotional and social needs of her patients.

Outside of work, Danielle enjoys walking in nature, spending quality time with family and friends, and doting on her pet rabbit, Flower. An avid reader of fantasy books, she also loves crocheting.
